What inspires me!!

"What's old is new again" this is my blog title and though it is a crafting reference, it is more importantly a reference for the changes I am making in my life.  I feel old in body and spirit, but,I am on a mission to become new again, which is a very hard thing to do.  It sounds easy, but I have to work at it daily and even hourly.

I  went on the Jillian Michaels Ultimate Wellness Cruise in October, 2010 with my daughter Nikki.  Jillian and Nikki are super motivators, I have become more empowered to make myself as well as I can, due to the motivation I found that I had on the cruise. I really felt like I can do this, it is not about being skinny it is about being healthy on the inside and out. I had a hard time coming home though because it was sooooo motivating on the cruise, when I got home I was looking for all the excitement to follow me and all of it didn't follow. I thought what the heck, I have to do this on my own, DUH that is what Jillian is trying to teach all of us. It is learning how to do it yourself and feel empowered to do something and then pay it forward!!!
I had about 40 pounds to go after the cruies in October.. I  lost 20 lbs before the cruise and 5 of those lbs came off on the cruise. To date I have lost 33 lbs.  I now know it is possible to go a day without pop (I have now gone 6 months without feeling I am going to die if I don't have cola). It feels good to feel empowered, not just to feel better but to feel like I can do more with my life!!

My daughter Nikki has helped out so much since we got back.  She has always been empowering, but on the cruise she realized what her God given talent is and that is helping and motivating anyone that needs help becoming fit and healthy.  She has been working on her personal training certification and is almost done!!!  I am so proud of her.  She has taken risks and overcome challenges to make a career out of something she loves and enjoys    .
Going on this cruise was the best experience ever!!!   If ever having a bad week, I will often just look back at this experience and it will boost my motivation to get off my butt and stop feeling sorry for myself. NO EXCUSES!!

I can't forget Brady!!!  He is such a great son, he helps me so much.  Brady makes me laugh and forget about my problems.  He reminds me not to take life too seriously.  Everyone in my family helps me through tough days, but Brady makes me laugh and I know from experience laughter is the best medicine.    These are Brady's grad and highschool pics.
Brady was known as "Snowman"          He is a great bball player, he still plays comp ball and it is still fun watching him play!
